The technical index of screening equipment is screening efficiency and productivity. The former is a quality index and the latter is a quantitative index. There is a certain relationship between them, but also affected by many other factors, which determine the results of screening.

We can roughly classify these factors into three categories:

1. The Properties and Structure of Screen Surface

For a certain material, the larger the effective sieve area (i.e. the ratio of the sieve hole area to the whole sieve area), the higher the productivity and screening efficiency per unit area of the sieve surface. The larger the sieve hole size, the greater the productivity of the unit sieve surface and the higher the screening efficiency.

2. Impact of Production Conditions

(1) The screening efficiency is low when the load of the vibration screening equipment is large.
(2) Feed uniformity is of great significance to the screening process.
(3) The inclination angle of vibration screening equipment should be suitable, which is usually determined by test.
(4) The screening index can be improved by increasing the amplitude of the screen in a certain range.

3. Physical properties of screened materials

It includes the particle size composition, humidity, mud content and particle shape of the material itself.
(1) When the content of fine particles is high, the productivity of the sieve is also high.
(2) When the humidity of the material is high, the screening efficiency will generally decrease. However, the larger the size of the sieve hole, the smaller the effect of moisture, so for wet materials with larger moisture, we can generally use the method of enlarging the sieve hole, or use wet screening.
(3) Wet screening should be used when the sludge content of material is large (when the sludge content is more than 8%).
